SUMMIT, NJ - In a letter to parents, staff and the community, Summit Superintendent of Public Schools June Chang has alerted Summit that all Summit Public Schools will reopen January 26 for a regular session.

While acknowledging that  the District and the city overall have "faced challenges" due to the snowstorm that slammed the Hilltop City on January 23, Chang praised the District's building and grounds crews, led by Angelo Palumbo, who have "worked tirelessly since the storm to help prepare our roads and walkways for school tomorrow."

Chang also hailed the efforts of Summit's Division of Public Works, specific to clearing crosswalks around the schools.

On a cautionary note, Chang said, "We recognize that roads have narrowed and there are large piles of snow throughout the city. We ask that all drivers practice safe driving measures and use caution tomorrow around the schools.  Please be patient and mindful of others on the road, during drop-off and pick-up times, and we ask that all walkers be alert when walking to and from school."
