The untimely death of a child is a tragedy no family should have to endure. As a school district and Summit community, we share this loss and offer our support and sympathies to the family.

As we approach the STOKES sixth grade weekend, I know the days will be met with sadness. However, I encourage students to go on the trip, as planned, and spend time together. We will have additional support staff available at STOKES for those who may wish to speak. Please know that this was a non-contagious, isolated medical incident.

We are asking that you respect the family's privacy at this time. We will have counselors available throughout the district to all students and staff beginning tomorrow and throughout the coming weeks."
