MIX IT UP DAY, a national movement that encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and connect with new people, was held at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School on October 18. The sixth graders took the mix it up challenge during their lunch period along with millions of students across the country. The event, which was coordinated by the LCJSMS Guidance Department, is designed to break down social barriers in school and encourage new friendships. Each student had the opportunity to change his or her lunch tables for the day and interact with a new group of classmates through fun activities and games. Showing the certificates they received for their participation in Mix It Up Day are, clockwise from top right, Addison Drone, Cameron Regner,  Christopher Queripel, Ken Bacchiani, Eamon McTernan, Michael Morano, Madison Perkins, Eliza Rustum, Alexa O'Neil, and Erin Manion.
