SUMMIT, NJ - Summit boys and girls, in grades K–8, are invited to register for the 2015-16 Youth Wrestling Program, presented by the Department of Community Programs (DCP). Time still remains to sign-up, with this year’s program set to begin the second week of November.
Wrestlers will be split into three teams, depending on age and level of experience;
- Novice grades K–1, and first year second graders
- Youth, grades 2-5
- Travel, grades 2–8 with two years of experience
Youth wrestlers registered with the Travel Team will have the opportunity to wrestle within the highly competitive New Jersey and Central Jersey Youth Wrestling League.
“Wrestling is a great foundation for all other sports,” said Mark Ozoroski, Assistant Director of the DCP. “All Summit youth wrestlers can expect to master the fundamental skills necessary to excel in other physical activities including balance, hand-eye coordination, strength and agility, footwork and more.”
This year’s coaching staff will include Daniel Gollin, Bill Crecca, Dean Colucci, Clint Matter, Mike Moore, and Frank Fiorito.
