After a turnaround regular season -- the Maroon and White won but eight games in 2016-17 -- the Summit High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team has earned a share of the Mountain Division title.

With a record of 12-10 and 8-2 in their division, Head Coach Tom Kenny, his assistant coaches Kyle Dattola and Dan Trench, along with his squad of Hilltopper Hoopsters will share the crown with Summit neighbors Oak Knoll, and now head into NJSIAA North 2, Group 3 State Tournament play seeded ninth, opening at eighth-seeded Nutley on February 26.

Summit's bright season also included a major individual achievement when senior captain Christina Richson notched her 1,000th career point in a game January 20 at Bernards.
