ELIZABETH, NJ - City of Summit and Department of Community Programs employee David Guida will be honored as a 'Civic Rising Star' at the United Way of Greater Union County's Annual Celebration, which will be held June 13 in Clark. Guida is one of three Rising Star recipients who will be joined by a host of other individuals, businesses and organizations honored in several other categories at the event.
In his role as Sponsorships and Programs Coordinator at the DCP, he has further developed the Department's corporate sponsorship program which has helped to fund a number of special events produced by the City of Summit, and has resulted in the development of mutually-valuable relationships with the local business and non-profit community.
In addition, Guida is actively involved in helping to promote the missions of several local civic organizations, including Shaping Summit Together and the Junior League of Summit.
Previously, Guida has been recognized as an 'Emerging Leader' by the World Waterpark Association and was the recipient of the 'Young Professional Award' from the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association. Under his direct supervision of special events programming, the DCP has received multiple awards of recognition from Aquatics International Magazine, the World Waterpark Association, and the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association.
The United Way of Greater Union County's Annual Celebration will be held, from 6-9 p.m., at the Gran Centurians, located at 440 Madison Hill Road in Clark. Tickets are priced at $80 each and are available by visiting uwguc.org.
