Summit's Deborah Schwarzmann, Stefan Shaffer Among Four Named to Art Center Board of Trustees

SUMMIT, NJ - Former longtime Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School language arts teacher, Deborah Schwarzmann, and Summit resident and SPP Capital Partners Founder and Managing Partner, Stefan Shaffer, are among four individuals recently named to the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey's Board of Trustees.

The 2013 Union County Teacher of the Year, Schwarzmann taught at LCJSMS for more than twenty-seven years. In addition to his role at SPP Capital Partners, Shaffer is also Managing Partner at SPP Mezzanine Partners. Others tabbed for the Board include Jesse Torrey of Maplewood, a freelance photographer, former art educator and now author of the blog, Smiles and Duct Tape, and David Hardin, a Chatham resident and partner in the Summit office Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, PC. 

“We are thrilled with our new slate of Board members who will bring great energy and experience to our mission of transforming and enriching lives through the shared experience of art in our community,” said Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s Chair of the Board, Marie Cohen.

01/01/2018 9:26 am     FD dispatched to a motor vehicle accident, car vs. pole in front of 196 GLENSIDE AVENUE.  On arrival occupant was out of the vehicle.  Summit EMS assumed patient contact. FD made notification to the power company to make repairs.  Summit PD remained on scene for traffic control and road closure until repairs were made.
