SUMMIT, NJ - Following the completion of an engineering study on ways to implement safety changes to Summit roadways and intersections, a four-way stop intersection -- the first of its kind in Summit -- has been placed where Blackburn Road and Pine Grove Avenue meet.

According to driversed.com, traffic rules state that, at a four-way stop, if two vehicles reach the intersection simultaneously, the vehicle on the left must yield the right-of-way to the vehicle on the right.

Such intersections are common in the state of New Jersey, and the City of Summit is asking motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike to take notice of this new traffic pattern and drive, bike and walk safely.
