Summit's St. Teresa's Hosts Red Cross' Annual Good Friday Blood Drive Mar. 25

Donating Blood makes a big difference in the lives of others.

SUMMIT, NJ - The annual Good Friday Blood Drive, hosted by the American Red Cross, will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Church March 25, from 1 - 7 p.m. in the Avila Room.

Anyone 17 and older and weighing at least 110 lbs. can donate. Those who are 16 years old can donate with a signed parental consent form which will be available on site.

Appointments are highly recommended to help manage wait times and flow throughout the day. To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: St Teresa of Avila.

This year, blood donors can save time by using Rapid Pass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire prior to arriving at St Teresa’s.

On the day of donation, donors should eat a healthy breakfast, drink extra fluids, and bring a picture ID. For additional information, contact the Gloria M. Ron Fornes, 2016 Blood Drive Coordinator, at gmforne@gmail.com

St. Teresa of Avila Church is located at 306 Morris Avenue, with the Avila Room adjacent to the playground area.

02/01/2018, 7:26 am - FD dispatched to Route 78 East Bound mile marker 47.2 for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries. On arrival both the Springfield and Summit Fire Departments set up for extrication. The vehicle was chocked to stabilize the vehicle. EMS performed patient care. A hose line was stretched for possible fire suppression by the Berkeley Heights FD.
