ELIZABETH, NJ - The Mid-Atlantic Champion Elmora Troopers arrived home from the Little League World Series to Elizabeth's Haratty Field. greeted with a hero's welcome by cheering fans as they stepped off the bus. 

The reception included confetti cannons, a ceremony and autograph signing. Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage and many other dignitaries and the coaches honored the boys with words of praise. 

Bollwage told the team, “You didn’t see this, but I gotta tell you this, your parents, your grandparents, your aunts, your uncles, your brothers, your sisters, and your cousins, were extremely proud of you.” With that, the crowd broke out in cheer.

Head Coach Jairo Labrador and his coaches led the Troopers to the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Championship and the chance to play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. 

The team is named after New Jersey State Trooper Thomas J. Hanratty, who was killed in the line of duty April 2, 1992, in a motor vehicle accident. Hanratty was born in Elizabeth and played in the league growing up.
