JERSEY CITY, NJ - Nearly 2,000 people are expected when the 2017 Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure is held at Liberty State Park in Jersey City on Sunday, May 21. The race is sponsored, in part, by TAPinto.net.

The Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure’s official Master of Ceremonies will be WABC-TV Eyewitness News reporter Anthony Johnson. Patty Steele, co-host of WCBS-FM’s morning show “The Big Show with Scott Shannon and Patty Steele,” will serve as this year’s Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure Honorary Survivor Ambassador. A Montclair resident and a three-year breast cancer survivor, Steele, who went public with her diagnosis on-air, is an advocate and spokesperson for the fight against breast cancer.

Main events and activities include Official USATF Timed 5K Run, a 5K Walk, a 1.5 Mile Fun Walk, and a Kids for the Cure Color Run sponsored by Medieval Times. For the younger set, the knights from the Lyndhurst Castle of Medieval Times -- along the King and Princess and their heralding trumpeters -- will be marching into the Kid’s Zone with a live jousting tournament.
