SUMMIT, NJ - Led by another Double-Double from senior captain Eric Baier, the seventh-seeded Summit High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated 18th-seeded Roselle 66-42 in the squad's Union County Tournament (UCT) opener at the Main Gym. The win is the Maroon and White's 16th in a row and elevates their season record to 19-2.

Baier had a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, with his dandy performance superbly complimented by strong games from a trio of senior classmates. Captain Will Hellings delivered a robust 13-point, five-rebound and seven-assist effort, Charles Lord splashed three rainbows from beyond the arc en route to scoring 13, and Jalen Russell contributed 10 points to collectively pace Summit.

Jahed Muhammad led Roselle with 20 points.

The 'Top took control early -- leading 20-10 after one quarter -- and led 32-16 at the halftime break. The Hilltoppers then turned the lights out on the visitors with a 17-10 third-quarter 'win' that bumped their advantage to 23 points.

Next up for Summit in the UCT will be home matchup against 10th-seeded Rahway on February 19. Tip-off at the Main Gym is set for 7 p.m. First, however, Summit will take on Caldwell at the Main Gym February 18. Tip-off for the program's 'Senior Night' is also set for 7 p.m.
