SUMMIT, NJ - Summit High School Boys Girls Swim Team member Abby Claus, and Wrestling Team member Quinn Halper have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAP into Summit, for the week ending February 7.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Claus finished the swim season with the most team points, and was the only swimmer to earn a first-place finish in every dual meet. The junior also finished fourth in the 100 backstroke at the County meet, and was a scant four one-hundredths of a second away from breaking the school record.

Sophomore Halper wrestles in the 106 lb. class, and  is on an 8]eight-match win streak that began on January 22. During a meet February 6 at Columbia High School that included the host school, as well as Madison and Colonia High Schools, Halper won all three of his matches, not allowing his opponents to register a single point on him.

Halper has been hard at work preparing to make a run in the state District 10 Tournament February 19.
