SUMMIT, NJ - Girls Ice Hockey's Sydney Cornell and Wrestling's Danny Petrela have been selected as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending February 19.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Cornell scored seven points in two games, with the freshman netting two goals and contributing an assist as Summit crushed Randolph 9-0, then followed it up with a three-goal Hat Trick and an assist in a 4-3 win over Pingry as The Maroon & White improved their season record to 14-4.

Petrela captured the District 13 wrestling gold medal at 285 lbs., and advanced to the Region IV Tournament. The senior's season record now stands at an outstanding 28-1.
