The Connection is hosting a FREE workshop, “Nada Yoga - Musical Meditation: Kirtan & Drum Workshop” with instructors Bridget Briant and David Miller, on Saturday, March 12th from 3:00-5:00pm. The Kirtan and Drum Workshop is free and open to the public; membership not required.
This workshop is an interactive mixed Kirtan (singing and chanting ) experience of Eastern, African and American chants with drums, shakers and bells. No musical talent necessary. Bring your own percussion instrument if you have one, or use one provided. Nada Yoga means Union through Sound. It is the ancient spiritual art of inner transformation through sound and tone, accessible to everyone and appropriate for people of any spiritual aspiration.
Bridget Briant is a classically trained yoga instructor who has studied many forms of yoga, including Hatha, Ashtanga, Kriya, Raja and Kundalini. . Her style has evolved into a more practical form of yoga. Bridget has a beautiful singing voice and ends most classes with Sanskrit chant.
Dave Miller started drumming with pots and pans as a child, and after years pursuing his passion, founded Earth Movers Drum Collective. Dave has performed at and produced a variety of music programs and festivals for over 35 years. Dave’s specialty is sharing drums and percussion music with participants at all levels to have a wonderful learning experience with hands-on success.
