The Connection Introduces New Sports and Fitness Camps

New this summer, The Connection has expanded their camp options to ensure each child is spending their summer doing something they love. For the sports enthusiasts, The Connection will be offering “Sports Fun-damentals”, a coed sports camp for ages 4+ and “Fitness Training”, a coed camp for ages 8+.

Sports Fun-damentals will use spirited play to teach campers the principals of different sports including soccer, kickball, T-ball, LAX/hockey, volleyball, badminton and football. Each week campers will learn backyard games to reinforce the skills they learn and do a sports related craft. Free swim and yoga are also included to provide a well-rounded day. By learning how to work as a team and continue to build individual skills, campers will gain confidence and share in the camaraderie that sports instills in children.

Fitness Training Camp is great for athletes and kids 8+ who love to move. Campers will learn about their bones, muscles and heart rate. They will learn about nutritional facts and the best way to fuel their bodies. Campers will participate in outdoor and indoor fitness training and work out in the fitness center with a certified personal trainer.

In the Fitness Center, campers will be assessed by the trainer and learn how to safely use all cardio and weight machines. For athletes looking to increase their speed on the field or build strength and endurance, the personal trainer will show them the best exercises to achieve those goals.

Fitness Training Camp will also include fitness related activities and crafts to help children retain the new information as well as yoga and free swim rotations.

In addition to their afternoon sports camps, The Connection will also be offering theater, gymnastics, Jr. Warrior, Nature, S.T.E.A.M., Art, fashion and cooking camps in the afternoon (1-4:30pm) and “SummerFun” in the morning (9-1pm). There are now 19 different camps to choose from so campers are engaged and learning something new all summer. (each camp will be linked to their page on our website)
