Volunteers of the “Great American Parks Initiative” announce the kick-off event to raise funds to rejuvenate, revitalize and renew Summit’s cherished parks: The Village Green, The Promenade Park and the Bank Street Park. On Friday, May 11, 2012 there will be a silent auction and performances at The Promenade Park from 5 pm to 9 pm. Featured performers will be Amp’d, instructors of World of Rock, The Judith G. Wharton Music Center, the New Jersey Youth Symphony, The Argentine Tango Dancers: Caroline Zokalski and Diego Di Falco. Moms, dads and kids from Summit will also be performing. It will be fun for the entire family. Admission to this event is free and open to the public. All are invited to enjoy this festival and be inspired to donate funds so that Summit’s parks can be enhanced for generations to come. Donations may be made payable to SADC (Summit Area Development Corporation) a 501( c ) ( 3 ) charitable organization, PO Box 299, Summit, NJ 07902.
