The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey to Host its Annual Spring Benefit – For Art’s Sake

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey will hold its annual For Art’s Sake fundraiser on April 12 & 13. Co-chaired by Sue Welch and Helaine Winer, the two-day event begins on Friday, April 12, as guests board luxury coaches for an insider’s tour of the private homes of noted contemporary art and glass collectors. Following the tour, guests will return to the Art Center for a dessert reception and will be among the first to preview the silent auction artwork for Saturday’s Blank Canvas Benefit.

The Art Center’s signature event, the Blank Canvas Benefit, is the highlight for Saturday, April 13, with a one-of-a-kind silent auction featuring the work of over 100 artists created especially for this benefit. The ‘Buy it Now’ Insider’s Salon will feature exclusive art selected by Guest Curator, Ann Schaffer. Guests will also enjoy premier catering by David Ellis Events, fine wines and festive cocktails as they mingle with fellow art enthusiasts and bid on the artwork.

For Art’s Sake is the Art Center’s major fundraising event, with proceeds supporting the Art Center’s education programs, exhibitions and outreach initiatives. Recognized for excellence, the Art Center’s educational programs serve school districts and a range of service providers whose programming has been greatly diminished or eliminated due to budget cuts. Each year over 3,500 K-12 students and an additional 1,000 children and adults with special needs benefit from the programs. Since its inception in 2005, For Art’s Sake has netted over $900,000 to support arts education programs.
