SUMMIT, NJ - An evening devoted to science and engineering. to include Summit High School students presenting their 2016-17 research projects, will be held June 2, from 6 - 8 p.m., when Summit High School presents its Third Annual Science Research Forum in the school cafeteria.
During the event, featured guest speaker Dr. Sherman Tim Waddell -- Vice President of Chemistry at Prokaryotics, Inc. -- will discuss “Obese Drugs and the Chemists Who Make Them: A Scientific Cautionary Tale.”
Drawing on a long career in medicinal chemistry at Merck, Waddell will discuss how drug discovery works, how it often goes wrong, and what can be learned from that, both in the lab and in the wider world. The talk is aimed at the general public, and no prior scientific knowledge is assumed.
The event is open to the Summit Public School Community - Elementary, Middle and High School Students, parents -- and other community members. Refreshments will be served.
