Tours of Summit Primary Centers are scheduled

Parents of prospective students for the Summit Primary Centers at Jefferson School and Wilson School are invited to tour the facilities.

"This is an opportunity for parents whose children may attend our schools to tour the Primary Centers, take a brief look at classes, and speak with me," said Felix Gil, principal of both Primary Centers.

Tours will be conducted at both centers:  Jefferson Primary Center, 110 Ashwood Avenue and Wilson Primary Center, 14 Beekman Terrace. The tours will include both the PreK and Kindergarten classes.  All tours will begin at 8:45 AM and will last approximately an hour.

Parents should attend the tour at the Primary Center to which they are districted.  Families who live in the Washington and Franklin school districts should tour the Primary Center at Wilson. Families living in the Brayton and Jefferson school districts should tour the Primary Center at Jefferson.  Children who live in the Lincoln-Hubbard School district attend either the Wilson or Jefferson Primary Center depending upon their home address.  If parents are unsure of which Primary Center their children would attend, they should call either school's main office.

The tour dates are as follows:

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 - Primary Center at Wilson

Thursday, January 12, 2012 - Primary Center at Jefferson

To participate in tours, parents should contact the school secretaries to reserve a spot. Space is limited, as tours are conducted while classes are in session. Because the number of people on each tour is limited to 15, the tours are for parents only. Children who will attend the Primary Center next fall will be invited to visit their school in the Spring on dates to be announced.

Reservations to tour The Primary Center at Jefferson can be made by contacting Eileen Mortenson at 908-918-2160 ext. 6752.

Reservations to tour The Primary Center at Wilson can be made by contacting Judy Shulze at 908-918-2175, ext. 6652.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
