SUMMIT, NJ - The Viva Vallenato Cumbia Band will perform the traditional dance and folk music of Colombia on Summit's Village Green April 25, beginning at 2 p.m.

While Colombian Cumbia is traditional folk music from Colombia, there are many Latin American adaptations that can be found in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, El Salvador, and Venezuela. Panama also has its own version.

Presented by the Summit Free Public Library and the City of Summit Department of Communities Programs, funding for this program was made possible by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, through a grant from the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs.

Attendees are asked to bring your lawn chairs and-or a blanket. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held on April 29th at 7 p.m.
