ELIZABETH, NJ – A 'Designer Bag Tricky Tray', featuring baskets filled with beautiful handbags from designers like Kate Spade, United Airline ticket vouchers, or a variety of exciting gift items, will be held November 16, from 6 - 9 p.m., at Central Presbyterian Church in Summit.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and all proceeds will benefit the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Coffee / tea and desserts will be provided and water will be available for sale. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.

The nonprofit Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless (ECHH) operates a number of programs aimed at combating homelessness, such as 'Operation Warm Heart', a winter shelter program for the chronically homeless. In addition, ECHH administers homeless prevention and emergency shelters, hospitality facilities that have housed more than 150 working families, ESL and Community Education classes, and Bernice’s Place, an after-school and summer program for homeless and near homeless children, the only one of its kind in the state.

In its more than three decades of existence, the Coalition has prevented homelessness for more than 15,000 households and found emergency shelter for more than 10,000 families, but it is a problem that continues to grow. In 2018 alone, the ECHH helped 850 families throughout Union County to find affordable housing.

“This is the first Designer Bag Tricky Tray that the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless has ever hosted,” explained Linda Flores-Tober, ECHH executive director. “We are looking forward to a fun evening for everyone, but also to introducing ourselves and our work to those who may be unfamiliar with it. The support we receive will help us to continue to provide safe, affordable housing for this most vulnerable population.”

Tickets are priced at $20, which includes one sheet of tickets. Additional sheets of tickets may be purchased. No tickets will be sold at the door; advance sales only. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit eventbrite.com/e/designer-bag-tricky-tray-tickets.
