ELIZABETH, NJ - Residents can help provide ready-to-learn backpacks for children across Union County through the United Way of Greater Union County's (UWGUC) annual 'Stuff the Bus' campaign, a collection drive to supply children who reside in Union County with new school supplies and backpacks.

The organization is asking the public for help in providing children in grades Pre-K  through 8 with “Ready-to-Learn” backpacks filled with school supplies before they go back to school in the fall. The collection drive will take place through August 14, and pick up dates begin on August 16.

Common school supplies needed are notebooks, calculators, rulers, pens, folders and pencils. Items can be dropped off at United Way office, located at 33 West Grand Street in Elizabeth. Backpacks and supplies can also be purchased online at roonga.com/uwgucstuffthebus2018
