SUMMIT, NJ - An updated digital platform for residents to obtain and renew annual parking and disposal center permits online has been launched by the City of Summit Parking Services agency. The new system is managed by license plate recognition with no physical permit to place on a vehicle.
Through November 16, residents are required to renew annual parking and municipal disposal center permits online. New permits will be valid from November 1 through October 31, 2021. Permits are required by the City of Summit for all residents to park in municipal parking lots and garages and to use the City of Summit Transfer Station.
All currently registered Summit residents will:
- Receive an email containing a temporary password and a link to the new system.
- Be asked to copy the temporary password and sign in to the system using an email address along with the temporary password.
- Then receive an email with instructions on how to create a permanent password.
To register one or more vehicles, follow instructions on the HELP screen to upload required documentation and credit card information. Permit requests will be approved within five to 10 business days. For vehicles not currently registered in the permit system, residents must sign up to create an account.
The Parking Services Agency is available to assist residents with the permit renewal process if they are unable to initiate the process online. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, appointments are required for in-office assistance, and are available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.
