As a fourth generation Hilltopper, I have never met another individual more enthusiastic than Greg Vartan about serving his community.   I am writing to express my wholehearted endorsement for him for the Ward 2 Common Council seat.
During the time I have known him, I observed Greg’s deep curiosity and tenacity, as well as his thoughtful consideration of the issues facing Summit today and in the future.

I have not been surprised by his incisive questions at this year’s Council meetings; he clearly thinks carefully about the ramifications of the decisions Council makes, particularly when it comes to spending our tax dollars.

A clear demonstration of how his roll up your sleeves and get it done attitude has been a benefit to Summit, Greg was in the first class of the Summit Police Youth Academy, and was subsequently asked to assist with the planning and execution of the program.

He has also served for five years on the Summit First Aid Squad as a volunteer EMT and ambulance driver. There is no question in my mind that Greg will always go the extra mile for the town he loves.
Last year, Summit residents came out on Election Day in record numbers to say that Council needs a new direction – one that is more transparent and inclusive in its decision-making. Greg will be a great addition as he will be able to bring a much-needed perspective to the table – that of someone who grew up in Summit, in the Jefferson School District, and who has both parents and grandparents living here as well.
I urge Ward 2 voters to choose Greg Vartan on November 8.
