SUMMIT, NJ - A 55 year-old Linden woman accidentally drove her vehicle into a dwelling at 46-48 Beauvoir Avenue February 27, wedging the 2010 Subaru Forester under the home's -- occupied by Atlantic Health Behavioral -- porch.
The City of Summit Fire Department responded at 9:41 a.m to the scene, where the woman, who was transported to Overlook Medical Center with minor injuries -- told responders that her foot slipped off the brake pedal an onto the accelerator.
No occupants in the building were injured.
The incident resulted in damaging the structural support of the porch roof., with damage assessment performed by a City of Summit building inspector and engineering staff from Atlantic Health.
The City of Summit Police Department and The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad also responded to the scene. The woman was cited for careless driving.
