If property taxes lose their deductibility under the federal tax code, the best local response is to stabilize the property tax burden. The best response by Summit voters is to elect the team that is more likely to stabilize that burden. That team is the team of Dietze, Wattick and Dougherty.
Mike Wattick, a financial advisor, is the former President of the Summit Taxpayers’ Association. Mike has practice keeping his eye on the budget. John Dougherty is the Director of Security at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth and retired from the Summit Police Force. John will bring an insider’s perspective to Council without voting on his own salary or pension. David Dietze has a law degree and is the President and Chief Investment Strategist of Point View Wealth Management. As former President of the Board of Education and member of the Board of School Estimate, David has a record of spending money efficiently.
The performance of the other team on tax stabilization is uncertain. Their own literature calls for creation of a business concierge, which may be duplicative of current functions and unnecessary.
In the coming fiscal environment, we need the tax stabilization team of Dietze, Wattick and Dougherty.
