SUMMIT, NJ - Weekend warriors and serious hoopsters alike can team up and compete for glory as former Summit High School (SHS) Basketball stand-out Wellington Smith and Unity Sports Group will host a 3 on 3 basketball tournament Sept. 19 at Memorial Field.
 
Smith, who starred at West Virginia University, became the Unity Sports' New York/New Jersey director of basketball with a goal to build the game at all levels, starting in his hometown of Summit. A portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to TryCAN program.
 
The 3-on-3 Tournament will feature three age groups:
 
Ages 10-12
 
Registration: 8 a.m.
 
Pool Play: 9 - 10:30 a.m.
Three-Point Contest: 10:30 - 11 a.m.
Elimination: 11:15 a.m. - 12 p.m.
 
Ages 13-15
 
Registration: 11:30 a.m.
Pool Play: 12:30 - 2 p.m.
Three-point Contest: 2:10 - 2:30 p.m.

Elimination: 2:45 - 3:30 p.m.
 
Ages 16-18
 
Registration: 3 p.m.
Pool Play: 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Three-Point Contest: 5:40 - 6 p.m.
Elimination: 6:15 – 7 p.m.
