SUMMIT, NJ - Claudia Piron and Griffin Feeney, members of the Hilltopper Girls and Boys Winter Track and Field Team, respectively, have been selected as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAP into Summit, for the week ending January 14.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Senior co-captain Piron won Gold in the 55m Dash and in the 300m Dash at the Wayne Valentine Invitational at Drew University, a meet in which 30 schools were represented. Piron's 300m time is the second fastest 300m in school history.

Piron's track resume is impressive, including winning countless races, several championships and setting numerous records, as well as being named All Conference, All County, All State and All American.

Senior Co-Captain Feeney has demonstrated leadership skills both on and off the track, and is one of the top Hilltopper long and middle distance runners competing in races from 400m to 3200m. This past week, he competed in the 1000m and the 600m at the Wayne Valentine Invitational, placing sixth in the 1000m and eighth in the 600m.
