SUMMIT, NJ - 'World Music' group Jaffa Road, comprised of some of Canada's most exciting and innovate interpreters of inter-cultural music, will perform its New Jersey debut concert December 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m., at Congregation Ohr Shalom - Summit Jewish Community Center.

Jaffa Road's organic fusion blends influences and inspirations from Jewish, Arabic, and Indian music, modern jazz, electronica, rock, pop and dub. Winner of the Best World Music Artist at the Toronto Independent Music Awards, their albums "Sunplace" and "Where the Light Gets In" have received two Juno Award nominations. The band consists of Aaron Lightstone - Oud, Aviva Chernick - Lead Vocals, Sundar Viswanathan - Saxophone, Justin Gray - Bass and Rakesh Tewari - percussion.

Jaffa Road’s music creates a shimmering sonic landscape that takes listeners on a journey that is at once ancient and modern, acoustic and electronic, sacred and secular. The highly-accomplished musicians challenge accepted notions of traditional music all the while creating an exhilaratingly new form of expression that defies cultural boundaries. Jaffa Road delights and challenges audiences with their unique brand of genre-bending global fusion.
