NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - YK Salon in New Providence celebrated their Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting on Thursday. Mayor Al Morgan was on hand to welcome Yani Kreger and his team to their new storefront at 1274 Springfield Avenue.
The Grand Opening festivities continue on Saturday, September 12 from 12 to 4 p.m. The community is invited to stop by for complimentary hair touch-ups, music, give aways and more. All guests will be given a 20 percent coupon on one entire day of beauty. The stylists look forward to interacting with the neighborhood.
Kreger transformed the space of the former Feathers Salon bringing New York City to the suburbs. The open exposed industrial ceiling adds to the cosmopolitan modern vibe. He said the space was custom-designed to make all guests feel welcome and at home.
He has gone above and beyond to accommodate for COVID-19 mandated sanitation and servicing procedures to ensure the safety of his staff and clients. "We call it Safe Styling," said Kreger. Masks are required and each client will be assigned one chair for the duration of their appointment, regardless of their service. Click here for safety procedures.
This is Kreger's second salon in New Jersey. He left Soho in 2015 to open a salon in South Orange. He didn't envision opening his second New Jersey location during a pandemic, however, it may work to his advantage. "It's hard times -- we opened in a real empty time," he said. But, he still has faith. With fewer people traveling into the city, Kreger has brought the city to New Providence. YK Salon is just what people are looking for.
