Zappia's Hosts Dine to Donate Benefiting Ashrams for Autism

SUMMIT, NJ - The month of April is designated as Autism Awareness Month, and the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School (LCJSMS) is partnering with Zappia's Deli and Zappia's Pizzeria on a special fundraising event.

April 2 will be Dine to Donate Day at both Zappia's Deli and Zappia's Pizzeria locations.  From 6 a.m., when the deli opens,  to 10 p.m., when the pizzeria closes, a portion of the day's proceeds will go to Ashrams for Autism, an organization that creates yoga programs and facilities where individuals with autism can live, work, and contribute to the community.

Zappia's Deli is located at 33 Union Place, with the pizzeria found at 21 Union Place.  For more information on Ashrams for Autism, visit Ashramsforautism.com.

02/01/2018, 7:26 am - FD dispatched to Route 78 East Bound mile marker 47.2 for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries. On arrival both the Springfield and Summit Fire Departments set up for extrication. The vehicle was chocked to stabilize the vehicle. EMS performed patient care. A hose line was stretched for possible fire suppression by the Berkeley Heights FD.
