The strength of Summit is its community-oriented residents and their willingness to devote time and energy to its non-profits, schools, religious institutions, sports leagues and city-sponsored commissions. As 40+ year residents of Summit we admire those who have given so selflessly to make the town a better place to live.
Marjorie Fox is one of those people. As an 18-year resident she has contributed to Summit by volunteering at her children's school in leadership positions at the Franklin School PTO Executive Board. She has been a driving force in the Environmental Commission and an 11-year member, and currently Chair, of the Recycling Advisory Commission.
Her experience as a lawyer and community involvement, gives her a unique set of qualifications for broad understanding of the workings of local government and its interface with the residents of Summit. We have been neighbors for 18 years and have gotten to know Marjorie and her family during that time.
Marjorie's election to the Summit Common Council will be an enormous plus for the community.
Marjorie will be a strong advocate for a more transparent Common Council, focusing on fiscal responsibility, advocating for a strong and progressive educational system for all and a common-sense development of the downtown business and parking infrastructure. Summit has a continuing need to face the many issues of the future in a responsible and fiscally meaningful way.
Marjorie Fox will be a strong advocate to achieve those goals.
