SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team fought back in the final frame to force overtime, which then led to a second session of bonus buckets but, in that 'sixth quarter', the Hilltoppers were outscored 12-5 and ended up being defeated by Westfield 64-57 at the Main Gym.

Junior captain Annabella Yorio had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Maroon and White, which also got 14 points and six 'boards from sophomore Olivia Lawlor along with six points and a team-high 11 rebounds from senior captain Sylvie Goudreau.

Westfield's Chloe Kreusser led all scorers with 20 points, doing half her damage from the charity stripe.

In the see-saw game, Summit lead by a point at the half, was down by five after three quarters and then 'won' the fourth quarter 13-8. The teams each scored six points in the first OT to end that session deadlocked at 52-52.

Next up for Summit, now 4-3 on the season, is a January 9 home tilt versus Union Catholic. The ball goes up in the air at 7 p.m.
