SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Junior Fortnightly Club (SJFC) is preparing to do something really scary -- as in scary fun for a homegrown cause.
The 'Spooktacular Soirée' will be held October 21, from 7 - 11 p.m., at Historic Twin Maples and benefit Summit-based Family Promise, a national organization whose mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.
Costumes are encouraged, but are optional, for the event which will feature ghoulishly good potions and gruel -- beverages and food. Tickets are priced at $60 in advance and $70 at the door, and are available by visiting sjfclub.org. The Summit Junior Fortnightly Club is a women’s club dedicated to volunteerism, fundraising, community service and social activities.
Twin Maples is located at 214 Springfield Avenue.
