5/5 - At 1624 hours a report was taken for a theft of tools from a Springfield Avenue apartment. The victim reported the incident occurred sometime between 4/19 and 5/3. Taken from the apartment were one (1) Husky Lock Nut Wrench, one (1) Husky Basin Wrench, one (1) Bosch Drill Bit Set and one (1) Diablo Saw. The total value of the stolen items at the time of the report was approximately $134.00.

5/6- Aaron F. Errazuriz, 24, of South Orange, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Mr. Errazuriz was processed and released with a pending court date.

5/7 - At 1012 hours a report as taken for a theft from a Summit Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred sometime between 12/25/18 and 04/27/19. Taken from the business was approximately eighty (80)-7” round aluminum tins of wax. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $2,500.00.

5/7 - At 1052 hours a report was taken for a theft of flowers from a Broad Street business. The victim reported that for the last few months an elderly white female, with gray hair pulls her vehicle to the rear door of the Broad Street business and steals approximately four (4) to five (5) bouquets of mixed flowers every few weeks. The suspect has been approached by employees, and she has stated she volunteers with the business but this has failed to be true. Each bouquet is estimated to be approximately $4.00 each, however, the total value of the stolen flower bouquets was unknown at the time of the report.

5/8 - Richard Jon Festa, 70, of Newark was arrested and charged with two (2) fugitive from justice warrants from Florida and Texas. Mr. Festa was processed and subsequently transported to the Union County Jail where custody was turned over to their officers.

5/9 - At 0103 hours a report was taken for a theft of a motor vehicle from a Fernwood Road residence. The vehicle, which had been left unsecured with the key fob inside, was last seen at approximately 2200 hours on 5/8, parked in the driveway of the residence. The total value of the stolen Mercedes-Benz GL4 was approximately $55,000.00. (*NOTE: Detectives recovered the vehicle the following day.)

5/9 - At 0959 hours a report was taken for a burglary to an unsecured motor vehicle. The vehicle had been parked in the driveway to a Glendale Road residence and had been entered in the overnight hours. At the time of the report it was believed nothing had been removed from the vehicle.

5/9 - At 1745 hours a report was taken for a burglary to two (2) motor vehicles that had been left unsecured, parked in the driveway to a Hobart Avenue residence. The incident occurred sometime between 0815 hours on 5/8 and 0815 hours on 5/9. At the time of the report it was believed nothing of value had been taken from the vehicles.

5/9 - At 2200 hours a report was taken for a theft of gift cards, beverages and snacks from a DeForest Avenue business. The victim reported that the theft occurred over a two and a half year period, with the most recent incident occurring on 5/2/19. The victim reported that three (3) gift cards totaling $1,500.00 had been stolen, in addition to approximately $500.00 worth of assorted beverages and snacks. Total value of the stolen items from the business was approximately $2,000.00.

5/15 - At 2257 hours a report was taken for a stolen package from a Shadyside Avenue residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1300 and 1800 hours on the same date. Taken from the front steps of the home was a package containing Pure Haven household cleaning supplies. Total value of the stolen items at the time of the report was approximately $165.00.

5/17 - At 1838 hours a report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle from a Morris Avenue business. The victim advised the incident occurred at approximately 1815 hours on the same date. Taken from the driveway of the business was a 2019 white Nissan Altima. The vehicle had been left running and was unsecured. Total value of the stolen car at the time of the report was approximately $25,000.00.

5/19 - Christopher T. Diaz, 29, of New York, NY was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Mr. Diaz was processed and released with a pending court date.
