New Providence’s UNWIND Yoga and Wellness Center opened its doors one year ago.

“It’s been an amazing year and we are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community," said Shirley Fee and Aubrey Reichard-Eline, owners of UNWIND Yoga & Wellness Center. "We are so grateful to be able to build this beautiful studio and thankful to have such a wonderful community of instructors. Our experienced and certified instructors take pride in teaching rather than just leading a class.  We couldn’t have done this without their support.  We are inviting the community to join us for our first anniversary with a two-day celebration!”

"We’re so grateful and humbled by the support that New Providence and the surrounding communities have given us. This first year has been quite a journey with challenges and rewards along the way. Throughout, our students from all the local communities have supported us and we celebrate this milestone with them."

It is really all about the students and I feel pretty safe in saying that we have the best student community! Many of our new students wanted to share their love of yoga and brought family members with them. This is one of the best things about the UNWIND community.  We have mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, sisters, girl friends, basketball buddies and more! I think the fact that so many students come with someone they care about, helps them build a consistency in their own practice. I love the fact that our yoga community is friendly, people have a sense of humor and they genuinely enjoy sharing connections.  UNWIND Yoga offers classes and class series for all ages from 2 years old through adults.

To kick-off the celebration on Friday, September 20th, UNWIND will have a Free Community Yoga Class led by studio owners Shirley Fee and Aubrey Richard-Eline, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Veteran’s Park on South Street in New Providence. This class is open to everyone in the surrounding communities, regardless of experience or age.

The festivities continue on Saturday, September 21st when UNWIND Yoga will host an Open House in our studio located at 1280 Springfield Avenue from 2 to 5 pm.  While many of our regular clients will be coming by, we want to share the studio with the community, so come on by and learn about us.

As our way of giving back and including the community in our celebration, we are also showcasing several local businesses as part of our event.  Saturday’s event line-up will be:

2 to 2: 45 pm - FREE Yoga Class – open to all (but please sign up online, space is limited)

3 pm – New Providence Business Showcase

4:30 pm – FREE Guided Meditation

During the Business Showcase, the Juice House will provide samplings, Elements will offer free massages, Jan Swenson will be offering fascial stretches, Linda’s Creative Gifts will be offering a special selection of gifts and New Providence’s newest business Harlee’s Tap and Grille will also be joining us.  Throughout the event, we will have prize drawings with gift certificates from New Providence Florist, Bellariva Pizza, Adams Fine Clothing, Providence Kitchen & Bar, Creations, Chopt, and more.

September is National Yoga Month and marks our one-year anniversary, we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone’s support this past year and are gearing up for this next year to be filled with more class variety and events that enhance and stimulate everyone’s practice. As a token of our gratitude a portion of all proceeds in the month of September will be given in donation to the New Providence Fire and EMS Departments.
