Anyone can learn a language at the Summit Free Public Library!
Did you know that the Summit Library has a subscription to Muzzy Club? Funded by a grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Muzzy Club is an online resource that allows Summit Library cardholders of all ages to learn a new language. Languages in Muzzy Club include British and American English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Italian, German, and Korean.
You can access it from a home computer by visiting www.muzzyclub.com/entry/SummitFreeLibrary. Login with your library card from Summit Free Public Library, and choose the language that you want to learn. If you need assistance at any time, you may click the lifesaver button on the lower right hand corner of your screen to view a brief tutorial of how Muzzy Works.
You can also download Muzzy on an Android or iOS device. Download the Puffin Academy Browser, Mobile Flash Browser for K-12 Education” from Google Play or the App Store. After you install the browser, open the Puffin Academy Portal, search for Muzzy, and install it. You may use the Muzzy mobile version with the following user name and password.
Muzzy’s language program uses immersion in the same way that you learned your first language. The Muzzy videos and accompanied activities build on each other, and are great for all different ways that people learn.
The Summit Free Public Library, located at 75 Maple Street, is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 - 5 p.m. You may access the library catalog, renew library materials, get information on upcoming programs, access online databases and check out eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines on the library website at summitlibrary.org.
