Longtime Summit Postal Service Employee Paul J. Coviello Jr. Passes Away at age 67

Paul J. Coviello Jr., 67, of Scotch Plains, NJ passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with his loving family by his side on Sunday, July 5, 2015.

The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Thursday, July 9th, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Friday, July 10th, at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral service to begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit. Paul was born in Summit, NJ to the late Paul, Sr. and Filomena (nee Puzzella) Coviello and had resided in Scotch Plains, NJ the past 45 years. He was employed by the United States Postal Service in Summit, NJ for 38 years, retiring as Customer Service Supervisor in 2003. Paul had also worked as a handyman for SAGE Eldercare in Summit the past 10 years.

He was a diehard LA Raiders and NY Yankee fan and loved his iPod and listening to music, but his greatest joy was his family.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Susan (nee Sautter); his loving children, Christine Gaven and her husband Sean of Pt. Pleasant, Michael Coviello and his wife Lyn of Berkeley Heights, and Paul Coviello and his wife Amy of Hightstown. He is the dear brother of Laura Macierowski of Summit and the cherished grandfather of Sean and Jessica Gaven, Jackson and Sydney Coviello, and an expected grandchild due in October. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companion, Molly.
