Patrick “Patsy” Natale of Summit, NJ, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the age of 73.

The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Thursday, April 6th, from 4-8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave., Summit on Friday, April 7th, at 10:45 AM.

Patsy was born in Summit, NJ to the late Pasquale and Nicolina (nee Iannelli) Natale and was a lifelong resident. His family founded Natale’s Summit Bakery where he baked his first wedding cake at the age of 14. He had a long career in the food industry, serving as the director of bakeries for various supermarket chains, including A&P, Kings, Pathmark and Grand Union. Patsy established P.C. Natale & Co., a food brokerage, in 1994 before retiring in 2015.

Patsy was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving from 1967-69. His service included a tour in Vietnam from 1967-68. Patsy was honorably discharged with the rank SP5 on January 17, 1969. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was also a member of the Italian-American Civic Federation in Summit.

Patsy is survived by his beloved wife Helen (nee DeSimone) of Summit; his loving children, Patrick Natale and his wife Lauren of Madison, NJ and Christine Peterson and her husband Randall of Simsbury, CT; his cherished grandchildren, whom he affectionately referred to as “his pups”, Patrick and Philip Natale and Riley, Alexandra, Nathaniel, and Blake Peterson; and his dear siblings, Angela Schneller and her husband William of Summit, NJ, Frank Natale and his wife Mary Ann of Louisville, KY, Rosemarie Zotti and her husband William of Summit, NJ, Edward Natale and his wife Patricia of Summit, NJ, and Salvatore Natale and his wife Roberta of Lebanon, NJ. Patrick is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his brother Anthony Natale.
