SUMMIT, NJ - Reeves-Reed Arboretum will host an artist's reception for Karen Fitzgerald on Thursday, September 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. in honor of the exhibit, 'Karen Fitzgerald 360⁰ - Cosmic Landscape Revelations', which opened June 10 and is currently on display at the Arboretum's Wisner House through November.

Fitzgerald will be on hand to give her personal view of the large-scale, gilded tondo oil paintings and watercolor landscapes that showcase the artist's unique vision and style. Light refreshments will be served.

A sense of wonder and the witnessing of natural energy is at the core of Fitzgerald's work, and her paintings occupy a special niche in contemporary art. Her unique, circular format claims independence from straight lines, offering the viewer a free-floating, unfettered quality.

The use of gold in her work, especially around the continuous edge of a painting or hovering close to the center, is a reference to the spiritual, like light emerging from darkness.

All works displayed in the exhibit are for sale, with the artist will donating 30% of all sales to the Arboretum.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum is located at 165 Hobart Avenue.
