SUMMIT, NJ - Summit Helping Its People (SHIP) -- whose mission is to feed the homeless and at-risk homeless people in Summit and assist participants in obtaining additional support services -- will host its annual fundraising dinner at St. Teresa of Avila's Memorial Hall on Wednesday, November 13, beginning at 6 p.m.

Founded in 1991 by the citizens of Summit, SHIP serves meals seven days a week to the homeless and at-risk homeless -- providing more than 15,000 meals a year -- including breakfast to Family Promise patrons when they are visiting Summit houses of worship.

Summit Helping Its People is funded solely by contributions from the community and local businesses. The fundraising dinner is a key effort that enables SHIP to continue its service in the community.
