SUMMIT, NJ - February Fun Fest -- the annual charity event founded by Summit couple Ryan and Dana Felmet -- has, in just its fourth year, set a new fundraising mark by raising $11,500 for charity and more than doubling the proceeds from the 2019 event. Held at the Summit Elks Lodge, the event benefited the Cancer Research Institute, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation - New Jersey Chapter, Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, and the Elks Camp Moore for children with special needs
In 2020, the event welcomed its first Premier Sponsor, The Max Challenge of Watchung / Scotch Plains, while also receiving significant support from local businesses who contributed food for guests and retail items and services for raffle prizes valued at over $5,000. The event was well attended by over 100 guests, including local residents.
Fun Fest 2020 had a robust array of raffle prizes, a creative wine pull, and a variety of entertaining activities.
Event founder Ryan Felmet said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of this year’s event. My wife Dana and I would personally like to thank local business donors, charity partners, the Summit Elks and our fellow community members who came out in record-breaking numbers and fueled our best fundraising event to date. We crushed our goals and have now raised approximately $25,000 for charity in just four events. Without the support of our community, this would not be possible, and we are already looking forward to next year’s event."
