SUMMIT, NJ - Due to the sizable increase of people in need during the coronavirus outbreak, St Teresa of Avila Parish is asking the community for help in stocking the shelves of its Loaves and Fishes pantry. The Church has been busy livestreaming Masses daily and checking in on their parishioners during the COVID-19 pandemic, however one of their most important tasks is making sure the pantry continues to be stocked for the Summit community.
Many people have donated funds, which are -- of course -- very useful and much appreciated. However, the current and ongoing difficulty in online ordering has made it so that the pantry is solely being stocked by physical donations left at the parish office front porch. Those who are healthy and able are asked to donate the following items:
- Pasta Sauce
- Canned Tuna or Chicken
- Dinty Moore Beef Stew
- Hearty Soup (like Progresso)
- Canned Vegetables
- Instant Coffee
- Dried Beans
- Cake Mix or a Pre-Made Non-Perishable Dessert
- Canned Fruit
- Peanut Butter
- New Boxes of 13 Gallon Garbage Bags
Please check the expiration dates on your items and leave them at the parish office front porch.
St Teresa of Avila thanks everyone for their generosity at this time. In addition, anyone that can supply a resource for a bulk online purchase is asked to contact the Church via firstname.lastname@example.org.
