SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Interfaith Council's COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist undocumented immigrants and families has, to date, assisted 27 individuals -- fifteen of whom are children.

A typical family -- often single parents with young children -- is in dire straits. Household providers have been laid off and are not able to work from home, putting them behind on the rent and experiencing housing insecurity. Some recipients have been sick and still recovering. Those who notify the recipients report that they are very grateful for the difference the grant is making in their lives.

The fund is managed by volunteers through the Summit Interfaith Council, and all monies donated go directly to help the families, with every $300 supporting a child, $700 helping an adult, and donations of $1,700 supporting a family with vital needs -- including rent and food.

Fully tax-deductible Donations to the SIC COVID Relief Fund can be made via PayPal or via checks mailed to Beacon UU, 4 Waldron Avenue Summit, NJ 07901.
