MILLBURN, NJ - Summit resident Ann Brodow has joined the Girls on the Run New Jersey East Board of Directors. Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a nonprofit youth development program that inspires girls in grades 3 - 8 to "recognize their limitless potential and boldly pursue their dreams."

An organizational leader at Verizon, Brodow's strengths in strategic and financial planning will help drive stronger program performance at GOTR while also expanding the reach of the program within existing communities and beyond.

Brodow was introduced to GOTR several years ago when her husband enrolled her twin daughters in the program. Her daughters have since graduated from college, where they were both ran Division I cross country and track. Brodow began volunteering for GOTR in 2018 as a way to give back to a program that positively impacted her family.

“GOTR stirs fond memories for our family, not just because it seeded a love of running, but also because it fueled confidence and empowerment in our young daughters,” said Brodow. “Now that I am on the NJ East board, I am excited to help GOTR reach more young ladies while positively shaping their lives.”

Girls on the Run New Jersey East has used physical activity to empower girls throughout Union, Essex, Morris, Burlington, and Mercer Counties since 2000. The council is supported by presenting sponsor R. Seelaus & Company, Inc., a Summit, NJ-based financial services firm. Through the joint efforts of the GOTR Board and volunteers, the program continues to grow each year, thereby inspiring more girls to be joyful, healthy and confident.
