SUMMIT, NJ - A portion of Elm Street -- between Broad Street and the Elm Street parking lot -- and a section of the Elm Street parking lot will be closing prior to and during Summit's 'National Night Out' event on August 6, Parking in the area will be restricted through the event and no overnight parking will be available in the closed section of the Elm Street lot on Monday, August 5.
The City of Summit Parking Services Agency recommends using an alternative parking option during the 'National Night Out' event, including:
- Broad Street garage and the Broad Street east lot (corner of Broad Street and Summit Avenue)
- Chestnut Street lot (adjacent to the Summit Fire House)
- Sampson lot (corner of Summit and Morris avenues)
'National Night Out', which will run from 6 - 9 p.m. on the Village Green, is a community-building initiative that takes place each year on the first Tuesday evening in August, and features a variety of participating municipal, county, state, and federal-level agencies offering citizens the opportunity to view displays and demonstrations.
