SUMMIT, NJ - The third Summit Repair Café -- organized to help the public restore beloved broken items to working order, while keeping the items from being discarded and winding up in landfills -- will be held September 21, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., at Christ Church in Summit.
Repair Café events see skilled volunteers with years of experience available to mend and fix items ranging from blenders to kitchen chairs, from bicycle tires to ripped shirts, and almost everything in between. The events are organized by Green Summit and co-sponsored by the Summit Area GreenFaith Circle.
The public is invited to bring items requiring repair to be repaired, including sewing / textiles, wood / furniture, plants / gardening, bicycles, jewelry, electronics, and knives / blades (with a limit of one blade [up to 6”] per household). The event and repairs are complimentary, but voluntary contributions are appreciated when an item is brought for repair. Please only bring that can be carried into the event unaided.
Christ Church is located at 561 Springfield Avenue.
