SUMMIT, NJ - The fourth edition of the Summit Repair Café -- which sees neighbor experts volunteer their services to mend and restore broken, but beloved items, to working order -- will be held March 28, from 11 - 2 p.m., at Christ Church.

The public is invited to bring items to be repaired for free, with repair services available including sewing / textiles, things made of wood / wood furniture, plants / gardening, bicycles, jewelry as well as electronics and digital cameras. While the event is free, a voluntary contribution is appreciated when an item is brought for repair. Replacement parts for lamps will be on hand for an at-cost fee.

Community members are asked to bring only those items that can be carried into the event unaided.

The Hilltop City is only town to currently host a Repair Café, and Summit organizers have recently joined with other New Jersey Repair Café coordinators to form 'Repair Café Garden State', a network of community organizers that will hold repair events across the state nearly every month. The organization also shares news and schedules of all upcoming Repair Café events taking place in New Jersey.

Summit’s Repair Café events, organized by Green Summit member Courtney Cordaro, are co-sponsored by the Summit Area GreenFaith Circle, an organization with the goal to inspire, educate, organize, and mobilize people of diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds globally for environmental action.
