NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Jersey has the fourth highest rate of maternal mortality in the US. What are the practices, economic realities and causes for this disturbing dynamic and how best to work together to improve care and outcomes in the state?
The League of Women Voters of New Jersey Women and Family Issues Committee invites the public to attend a free public panel discussion entitled 'NJ Maternal Mortality: A Critical Issue' on Thursday, November 14, beginning at 7 p.m.
The event, held at the DeCorso Center in New Providence, will feature several panelists, including Dr. Nastassia Davis, Founding Exec Director, Perinatal Health Equity Foundation; Mary Ditri, Vice-President Community Health, NJ Hospital Association; Michelle Gabriel-Caldwell, Owner, Baby Please Birth Services; S. Nadia Hussain, Maternal Justice Campaign Director, Moms Rising; Jill Wodnick, Montclair State University, Lamaze International; and Judith Woop, NJ State School Nurses Association.
